Amyr Klink is a Brazilian explorer, a sailor and a writer. He went to Antarctica by boat on his own in 79 days in 1998. He didn’t have problems. He was successful. He traveled to other places like the North Pole, Africa and Bahia.

Birthdays

There are parties to celebrate birthdays in Brazil. We usually eat sweets like cakes, “brigadeiro” (a sweet chocolate ball made with sweetened milk and chocolate sprinkles) and we drink soda (coke, “guaraná” and crush).

Christmas

At Christmas we have supper, when we eat turkey, rice and salad. For dessert we have pudding, ice cream, cake, fruit and chocolate sauce.

Easter

We have a special dessert: a chocolate egg and a lot of chocolate!!! It is a tradition on this date to give and receive chocolate eggs. Yummy!!!

The Greatest Swimmer Alive

Michael Phelps was born on June 30th, 1985. He is 31 years old. He is an American swimmer.

Phelps is married to former Miss California, USA, Nicole Johnson. They secretly married on June 13th, 2016. Their son, Boomer Robert Phelps, was born on May 5th, 2016.

He has two sisters that swim too. He started swimming because of them.

Michael Phelps has a total of 28 medals and he doesn’t like to lose. His better stroke is the butterfly. His nicknames are: "The Baltimore Bullet", "Flying Fish"  and "Gomer".

Phelps retired following the 2012 Olympics, but in April 2014 he made a comeback.
