São Paulo’s famous buildings !!!!!!

The “Farol Santander” (former Altino Arantes Building) was inaugurated in June 1947. It was the tallest building for 13 years (1947-1960). It is 161 metres tall, there are 36 floors and 14 elevators. Something interesting about “Farol Santander” is that it was called “BANESPÃO” or “BIG BANESPA”. It was closed for a very long time, but it was reopened in 2018.

My Grandpa

My grandpa was born in São Paulo on 23 August 1928, on the Southwest coast of Brazil. He was from a Portuguese family. He had three brothers and two sisters.

He went to Elementary School in a neighborhood called Brás. He left school after 4 years.

He went back to school when he was nineteen. He used to like studying and reading, specially about Science.

On 1 June 1963, he married my grandmother (his cousin). They had two daughters (one of them is my mother).

He used to work in a Pharmacy before working with his dad and brothers. They had a company that produced machines to make shoes.
In his free time, he used to read National Geographyc magazines, and science books. He also loved to work in his garden and fix his car.

He died of cancer on 27 August 1992.

If I had the chance I would like to meet him.
